Celebrating Diversity

Overview: This session gives students the opportunity to recognize differences and similarities that make each person unique and yet connected to every other person in the world. Students will practice communication skills needed to discuss differences and learn the importance of creating accepting communities, full of people with different skills, challenges, personalities, backgrounds and appearances. 

Objectives: In this session, students will:

  1. Define diversity 
  2. Identify categories of differences
  3. Practice using their S.T.A.R. Power to  recognize and appreciate the skills of others
  4. Learn the importance of having diverse communities
