BIOS

Shawn Forster - Director/Professor Smarty Pants III

Shawn has a diversified career in directing, producing and performing in musical theater. As an actor, Shawn was nominated for Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Awards for his portrayal of Willard in Footloose and Hunter in [title of show]. He was also nominated for his work in Mid-life! A Crisis Musical. Other favorite roles include: The Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Thénardier in Les Misérables, Joe Vegas in Fame the Musical, Roger in Grease, Paul in A Chorus Line and Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz. In 2002, Shawn was cast in the National Tour of It’s A Wonderful Life the Musical playing Ernie the cab driver. He spent time as a professional actor doing productions at Equity Dinner Theaters throughout the country. As a director, Shawn was nominated for SALT Awards for his direction of All Shook Up and Grease. He most recently directed Hairspray for F-M High School and Suds The Musical for The Talent Company which won him his first SALT Award win for Best Director of the Year.

Shawn has been involved with Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play almost from the beginning, serving as dramaturg for the play and its original production. He was an original cast member of the play; there is even a character named after him! Shawn is very excited to be directing the tour of this wonderful new production. 

 

Dani Ryan Assistant Director/Bucket Filling Fairy

A 5-time nominee and 2-time Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Award-winning actress, Dani is thrilled to be a part of this exciting tour! Dani has been performing and instructing musical theatre for over 15 years, following her graduation from the Theatre Department at SUNY Oswego. Some of her most acknowledged credits include: Florence in Chess, The Witch in Into The Woods, Woman 2 in Songs For A New World, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Sara Jane Moore in Assassins.

As an employee of Peaceful Schools for over 12 years, Dani has worked extensively with youth from Pre-K through High School on the issues of bullying and creating kind school communities. She is excited to put two of her passions together to help fill everyone’s bucket!

 

Josh Batstone Trey

Josh is excited to work with the touring production of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play. Born and raised in Fulton, NY, Josh loves to perform, whether acting, singing, or playing his guitar and harmonica. In Central New York, Josh has been seen in such roles as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid and Aladdin in Aladdin. Josh appeared on Season 8 of NBC's smash competition show The Voice.

 

Max Anderson Trey

Max recently finished playing Tom Collins in RENT for the Covey Theatre group and his Jacob in TheatreFirst’s production of La Cage Aux Folles earned him a 2012 SALT award. He has played a wide range of roles for a number of local theatre companies from Bernardo (West Side Story) to Othello to Adolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone.

 

Carmen Viviano-Crafts - Christina/Bucket Filling Fairy Understudy

Carmen has been doing theater for as long as she can remember. She has participated in more than 30 productions locally, earning a SALT award in 2010  for her role as Schwartzy in the Wits End Players production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Best Supporting Actress in a Musical). Most recently she was seen as Brooke in the RedHouse's production of Noises Off and in the ensemble of the Covey Theater Company's RENT.  As the mother of a now 18 month old daughter, children's theater is very special to Carmen. She has worked with the Gifford Family Theater on both Go Dog, Go! and Miss Nelson Has a Field Day, as well as participating in over 20 children's and young adult audio books with Full Cast Audio. Carmen is honored to be a part of the Peaceful Schools team, and excited to bring a play with such an important message to kids!  

 

Stephfond Brunson Trevor

Stephfond is really proud to join this wonderful cast of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play. He is a choreographer, dance teacher and director in the Syracuse Community who has received multiple SALT nominations for his work. He has choreographed for many school musicals at Henninger, Westhill, Corcoran and Bishop Ludden.

 

Kelsie Deyo - Madeline

Kelsie is so happy to be joining the Peaceful Schools family! She was seen most recently in Grease as Cha-Cha DiGregorio last summer. She enjoys teaching Zumba and is involved in a bunch of other 'dancey' things around Syracuse. Enjoy the show and remember to fill someone's bucket today! 

 

Rae Robinson - Jenna

Rae is a Syracuse native of twenty one years, and is currently a junior year Drama major at Syracuse University. Some of her recent productions include RENT (Alexi Darling/Pam), Summer of Blood (Ensemble), and Rocky Horror Picture Show (Transylvanian). She has also been involved in several student films as well as local independent films. After college she plans on moving out to the west coast and pursuing a career in TV and film. She would like to thank her family, friends, and everyone who has supported her over the years. She also wished to thank Peaceful Schools for bringing this incredible piece to life and allowing her to be a part of such an amazing movement.

 

Nicholas Lama - Trey (Second Official Tour)

 Nicholas is a former Niagara University Theatre Studies student.  He spent the last five years performing with various Theatres around Buffalo:  Dromio of Ephesus in The Comedy Of Errors with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Charlie Brown in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown with O'Connell and Company, William Barfeé in The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee with Musicalfare, and Sparky in Forever Plaid at the Kavinoky Theatre.  He is honored to be joining the company for the school year’s performances.

 

Emily PiciMimi (Second Official Tour)

Emily, a graduate of Niagara University with a BFA in Theatre, is extremely excited to be joining the cast of Have you Filled your Bucket Today? The Play.  She has experience in acting, teaching, and directing in the WNY and Albany areas.  Her favorite roles include Sally from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and the lead in the one woman show Laughing Wild. As a director, she has had a blast touring with Niagara University Repertory Theatre and many productions through Dragonfly Performing Arts, including Alice in Wonderland and Happily Never After. As a teacher, she loved working with her acting students at Petite Productions. When she is not involved in theatre, she works as a Graphic Designer, and Author/Illustrator, including her children's book Joey Was Alone. She would love to thank her husband, two littles, and theatre family for this amazing experience in sharing the wonderful bucket filling message. 

 

Gail GoldenBucket Filling Fairy (Second Official Tour)

Gail is a professional fairy! She played Cinderella's Fairy Godmother at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Cinderella's Surprise Celebration. Gail has done over 1,000 radio commercials and voiceovers and was the original voice of Strawberry Shortcake for American Greeting Cards. Film credits include 2 scenes opposite Jimmy Fallon in The Year of Getting to Know Us and Trew Calling starring Lee Meriwether. Gail has performed in plays in Hollywood, NYC, Burbank, Buffalo, Syracuse, Cleveland, and Atlanta. Since 2006, Gail has been Mrs. Claus in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC. Gail played Comedysportz for 6 years and studied improv at The Groundlings, Chicago City Limits, and Second City Toronto. She has a BFA in Theatre from Ithaca College and an MA in Humanities from SUNY at Buffalo.

 

Carolyn LansomBucket Filling Fairy (Second Official Tour)

As a voice teacher and a past assistant director for the Arts Alive Theater summer program in Salamanca NY, Carolyn is no stranger to children's theater.  In fact, she couldn't be more excited to have this wonderful opportunity. After graduating from Niagara University with a BFA in Theater Performance she lived in Japan for three years where she directed, acted and wrote for the Yokosuka International Players. Now back in Buffalo, she has enjoyed performing with several Theaters including: American Reperatory Theater of WNY, Art Park, Aural Stage Studios, Opera Sacra, Rocking Horse & Subversive. Her favorite role was playing Ilsa in Spring Awakening with Buffalo Chrysalis Theater. Carolyn is also the lead vocalist for The Buffalo 5, a local cover band that plays weddings and events all over the WNY area. She wants to thank her family for the endless support and to Peaceful Schools for bringing their story to WNY!

 

Joey BuchekerProfessor Smarty Pants III (Second Official Tour)

Joey Bucheker is a two time Artie Award nominee in the categories of Supporting Actor (Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown) and Choreography (Poseidon).  Performing Credits include Off-Broadway: Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding. Regional: Hello, Dolly! (Barnaby) starring Carole Cook, Mame (Ito) with Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth, Cabaret (Emcee), Beauty and the Beast (Lefou), Nunsense A-Men! (Sr. Leo) and Chicago (Sgt Fogarty/The Jury). Director-Choreographer credits include; Les Miserables (TANYS Award for Direction), West Side Story, Pippin, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz, Godspell and the New York premier of Nunset Boulevard. Joey is the Co-Writer and (manager of the) star of the critically acclaimed, Betsy Carmichael’s Bingo Palace. Joey is the host of the 8 time People’s Choice Podcast Award nominated weekly show, Cocktails and Cream Puffs (.com).  Joey is the Artistic Director of Theatre in the Mist and holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Niagara University.

 

MacKenzie GildemeyerChristina (Second Official Tour)

MacKenzie is so excited to be joining the Peaceful Schools Bucket fillers!  A recent graduate of Niagara University with her BFA in Theatre Performance, she is no stranger to children’s theatre. At Niagara, she performed with the NURT touring children’s theatre troupe as well as playing Christina in the WNY premiere of Have You Filled a Bucket Today? The Play. She was most recently seen on the NU stage prior to graduation in shows such as, Sweeney Todd, Guys and Dolls, Curtains, Into the Woods, and The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures.  MacKenzie is currently back in WNY at Niagara University pursuing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Let’s fill some buckets!

 

Reed BentleyTrevor (Second Official Tour)

Reed Bentley is thrilled to be touring with Have You Filled A Bucket Today?The Play! He graduated with a BFA in acting and a minor in directing from Oklahoma City University and was certified as an Advanced Actor-Combatant with Fight Directors Canada last fall. Some of his past credits include: Penn Webb with Theatre of Youth, (Crash), The Secret Garden at the Rose State Performing Arts Center (Dickon), a staged reading of The Priory (Daniel), and Richard II with TheatreOCU (Lord Willoughby/Fight Captain). He's so excited to join the Peaceful Schools team and can't wait to fill some buckets!

 

Devan CorcoranMadeline (Second Official Tour)

Devan is excited to be joining the cast of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play.  A Buffalo native, Devan just returned home from her second tour with Sesame Street Live (Abby Cadabby).  Favorite credits include: Disney Cruise Line, Mary Poppins (Artpark), 42nd Street (Kavinoky), The Tempest (Shakespeare In the Park), and Cabaret (Niagara University).  Thanks to all my friends and family for their endless love and support!

 

Krista GeliaJenna (Second Official Tour)

Kristin is thrilled to be joining the wonderful cast and crew of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play.  Some of her past credits include Celia in As You Like It, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and Cosette in Les Miserables.  Kristin also performs in O'Connell and Company's Diva by Diva: A Celebration of Women, and holds Master's Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Social Work. 

 

Marisa Caruso Mimi Understudy (Second Official Tour)

Marisa is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia's Theatre Arts department. She has had the pleasure of performing with a variety of Buffalo theatre companies, including the Lancaster Opera House, Road Less Traveled Productions, Theatre of Youth, and Shakespeare in Delaware Park. She also practices and performs improv comedy, singing, and accordion whenever possible. She is thrilled to play a part in the expansion of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play and Peaceful Schools.  Many thanks to the cast and production team!

 

Richie Derwald -  Professor Smarty Pants III Understudy (Second Official Tour)

For over 25 years Richie has produced, directed and performed in numerous critically acclaimed variety shows throughout North America. He stars as the wacky Dr. Quack in the national children’s TV show “Super Simple Science Stuff” (5/5 Dove awards) Richie has also worked as a drama teacher for Arts in Education, Produced numerous school assemblies including “Healthy Heroes” and “In Charge Now” Richie currently works as an actor for the educational children’s theater group “The Wondermakers” 

As a child, Richie experienced firsthand what it was like to be bullied and looks forward to building up the self-esteem of our future generation with his new friends in Peaceful schools.

 

Ricky Marchese -  Trey/Trevor Understudy (Second Official Tour)

Ricky is thrilled to join the cast of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play. Originally from Rochester, he has a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University at Buffalo. Recent Buffalo credits include Theater of Youth productions of Winnie the Pooh (Tigger) and Crash (Mike). Most recently, he was in Musicalfare’s production of In The Heights (Usnavi). When not on stage, Ricky is a preschool teacher at the University at Buffalo daycare center. He is also a black belt in karate! Many thanks to the staff for this wonderful opportunity, and enjoy the show!

 

Meagan KurilovitchChristina/Madeline/Jenna Understudy (Second Official Tour)

Meagan is overjoyed to be working with the Buffalo touring production of Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play. She was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, where she graduated from Niagara University with her BFA in theatre performance and her Master’s in Education. She has been involved in numerous productions all around Western New York and has also toured the mid-west with Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre. She is excited to bring her two passions together and help spread this inspiring story to children.
