Program Coordination

For each school building receiving comprehensive Peaceful School programming a Program Coordinator can be designated. The Program Coordinator will manage the implementation of Peaceful School programs within the building
The roles of the Program Coordinator may include but are not limited to the following:
- Building Coordination
- Peaceful People Program Coordination, Implementation and Classroom Presentation
- Mediation Program Coordination, Implementation and Training
- After School Implementation and Facilitation
- Parent/Staff In-Service Training Coordinator and Facilitator
- School Vacation and Summer Program Implementation and Facilitation
The specific duties of the Program Coordinator may include but are not limited to the following:
- Create and maintain a building specific PRL Program Calendar. Include information related to trainings, events and staff availability.
- Create and maintain the building Peaceful People schedule.
- Create and maintain a Mediation Coordination schedule.
- Develop and implement a building specific outreach plan to inform parents, community organizations and district personnel of program events, activities and trainings. This may include submission of articles to school bulletins, postings on the PRL website and informational flyers sent home with students.
- Attend building staff meetings and participate in appropriate building level committees as approved by the PRL Regional Coordinator and the Building Principal.
- The Program Coordinator should be informed on school policy and procedure including building codes of conduct and school calendar.
- Disseminate important information related to building policy and procedure to members of the PRL Support staff working within that building.
- Meet with building principal as needed to determine building needs, complete program request forms and coordinate implementation of PRL program services.
- Assist PRL support personnel in scheduling programming (such as Peaceful People, Peace Club, Peer Mediation support etc.)
- Prepare end of the year reports for each program implemented within the building including but not limited to collating teacher and student evaluations, mediation statistics and Peace Club project reports
- Schedule meetings with Regional Coordinator to review building program implementation.
- Communicate with PRL Administrative staff, maintain e-mail and phone contacts and submit appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
The roles, duties and responsibilities of the Program Coordinator may be updated or revised at the discretion of the Executive Director of PRL.
