The Twenty First Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program is committed to supporting after school and summer learning programs. These programs are designed to increase academic achievement through academic enrichment activities during the school day; offering additional services and programs to the student that are not offered during the traditional school day; and providing literacy programs to the families of children who attend the program. Peaceful Schools is excited to support this wonderful program and provide technical assistance to 21st CCLC grantees.
Peaceful Schools, in partnership with Ulster County BOCES, provides technical assistance to the New York State-Rest of State 21st CCLC grantees via phone, emails and site visits related to improving programs. In coordination with New York State Education Department (NYSED) we design and deliver relevant, research-based professional development to the 21st CCLCs at state-wide conferences. We conduct site monitoring visits, provide feedback, direction and submit written reports to NYSED. As Technical Assistance Advisors, we help to ensure that all 21st CCLC Rest of State sites conduct the Quality Self-Assessment (QSA) twice each year in order to identify and implement strategies for improvement.
Peaceful Schools has been subcontracted through Ulster County BOCES and NYSED as their (MWBE) partner to help provide technical assistance to 21st CCLC grantees. Through this partnership, Peaceful Schools provides support to 32 contracts and 73 sites throughout the CNY and WNY areas.
